+ Is CBD legal?

Yes! CBD is legal in all 50 states. Federal law requires hemp products to contain less than 0.3% THC. All of our products meet this requirement.

+ What Is CBD?

CBD stands for for Cannabidiol, a prominent, naturally occurring class of molecules called cannabinoids found in the plant Cannabis Sativa L. CBD comprises up to 40% of the plant and is one of over 60 plus compounds found in cannabis. Of these compounds, CBD and THC are present in the highest concentrations, and are therefore the most recognized and studied. CBD is a non- psychoactive component of the plant that possesses a wide range of benefits and does not cause a high, unlike THC. Our bodies are made up of an endocannabinoid system and use cannabinoids to maintain healthy cells.

+ How is CBD made?

Our CBD is sourced from hemp grown in Kentucky as part of the Industrial Hemp Research Pilot Program. The hemp plants are grown, harvested, and inspected for quality by our processor Commonwealth Extracts. Then they undergo a  supercritical CO2 fluid extraction process to provide raw cannabis extract. This clean, environmentally friendly process is safer than using hydrocarbon-based or ethanol type extraction methods.  The raw extract is further refined into a CBD rich distillate which forms the base of our products. For our tinctures, natural flavors are added to various concentrations of distillate and fractionated coconut (MCT) carrier oil. Tinctures are bottled and lab tested by a 3rd party.

+ Why Use CBD?

CBD is seen by many to be a natural way to relieve stress and anxiety. CBD’s theraputic potential is leading many to investigate how it can transform their health without the high. All humans have an endocannabinoid system that is responsible for maintaining many of our normal bodily functions. The scientific data to support the claims of the healing properties of CBD is growing steadily.

+ How to use CBD?

There are many routes of administration for CBD. If you are using a tincture, it’s best to use the dropper to place the desired amount under the tongue (sublingual). Wait for 30 seconds to 2 minutes for the best absorption before swallowing. Be mindful to keep the dropper slightly away from the mouth when administering. The mouth is full of bacteria that you don’t want to get on or in your dropper before you place it back in the bottle. This is important to keep your bottle of CBD pure.

+ Will I fail a drug test from using CBD?

It’s possible to fail a drug test from using a full spectrum CBD product. Full spectrum products do contain THC. When used regularly, the THC builds up in your system and can result in a failed drug test. You must pay careful attention to exactly what CBD products you use if you would like gain the benefits of CBD and pass drug tests. Our THC Free Oils are a good option. These are broad spectrum oils that have been verified by a lab to contain no THC.

+ Can I give CBD to my pet?

Yes! Many benefits have been found to help pets maintain their best health. We are working on a blog post for this topic. Until then a web search will turn up many studies about the effects of CBD on pets. Be careful what your read!

*Note: we do not recommend administering CBD tincture to a pet from a bottle that is for human consumption. Just as the dropper should never go inside a humans mouth, it should absolutely not go inside a pets mouth and then back in the bottle. This may cause bacteria to form in the bottle, rendering it unsafe for consumption.
